The Inter-Club Cup is the Regional club competition that moves around the North East each year and is open to members of fencing clubs based in the North East Region, including university fencers. Its inauguration was to encourage a friendly inter-club competitive environment for experienced and beginners alike!
This is also a qualifier for the British Fencing GB Cup whereby the two highest-ranked eligible fencers will be selected to represent the NE Region on Friday 8th – Sunday 10th May 2020 (different weapon per day) at the PlayFootball Birmingham, B19 2LF [https://www.britishfencing.com/find-event-3/the-gb-cup-2/]
All qualifiers of the GB Cup who wish to take up their place will have to pay a further entry fee of £30 for the GB Cup Finals.
The Club Cup Trophy will be awarded to the club with the most fencers representing who finish in the top 4 in each event Trophies will be given to:
Best Cadet (Highest placed U17 on the 1st Jan 2019)
Best Veteran (over 40yrs)
Best Novice (Less than 2 years fencing experience or British Fencing Compete licence of fewer than 2 years)
Spirit of the Sport (For anyone attending the event who has shown an outstanding spirit of the competition)

Entry fee: £27 one weapon, £40 two weapons, £45 three weapons
Deadline for entries: 1st March. Late entries will be subject to a £10 late fee
Format: Individual Poule unique or 2 poule rounds with all being promoted to a Direct Elimination round. Weapon Events: Women and Men events, sabre, epee and foil British

Age: Be aged 14 on the day of competition (GB Qualifiers must be aged 16 or over on Jan 1st 2020)
Fencing Equipment: Fencing jacket, breeches, foil/epee gloves and mask bib needs to be minimum 350N CE Level 1. Under plastron and sabre gloves need to be 800N CE Level 2. All fights will use electric fencing. [http://britishfencing.com/uploads/files/jan18_approved_safety_guidelines.pdf]
Refereeing: Each club needs to supply at least one, two-weapon referee or two referees covering two weapons. Travel expenses and refreshments will be covered by the competition.
